First I was thinking to tell you about south advantage or how to put men in teslas but then I decided to write about something more general and useful.
Being agressive. Yes keep reading, as obvious as it sounds like, almost all, especially the ones considered new school players lack this.
In real game being agressive is everything and I don't mean that defending isn't a good thing but in the end even tho if you are defending in beginning it's still your counter attack that finishes the opponent.
If you get rushed, instantly rush back. If you are cying and you successfully defend tank rush build to their base with teslas (and tank up if needed) before they fully cyed too.
If you are tanking try to push with tanks and dont always wait your partner to come cover your ass with teslas. Because when you are being agressive and pushing at start alone it gives your partner an upper hand since if one of the enemies is cying he probably need help his partner with teslas.
Also if you are able to take battle near to their base, when your partner joins in, battle is near their base :P.
In my opinion you should most often play 2vs2 like you would play 1vs1, constantly pushing forward and keeping the pressure up. Focus on your own game.
Even now many players who have improved greatly in past 1-2 years lack of being agressive. Yes many of the "gold medalists" too. They often when tanking with good tanker partner on their side wait to their partner lead the way and then just follow him.
On the other hand if you are cying and pushing forward with teslas near their base, make sure your teslas are shooting something! I see every day people making teslas next to enemy base which is good if there are units nearby, but if there are no units you should aim all your teslas to shoot buildings. Same goes with v2s, if your v2s are near enough to shoot enemy power plant, dont let it stand there, shoot it for fucks sake!!
If you think about any player who you consider to be very good, they are all very agressive.
To put it shortly: Attack when you can, don't wait.
